Micromax Smarty 4.3 A65

Micromax, the Indian mobile manufacturer, has launched a number of devices in the ‘Smarty’ range, including the Smarty 5.4, the Smarty 3.5 and Smarty 2.0.

The dual SIM phone which runs on Android 2.3 Gingerbread, has a 4.3-inch TFT capacitive display with a resolution of 480x800 pixels, and a 2 megapixel rear camera. It is powered by a 1.2 GHz ARM Cortex-A5 processor, and has 512MB RAM. The Smarty 4.3 A65 has an internal memory of 190MB, which is expandable up to 32GB via a microSD card slot. Micromax says that the 1,350mAh battery offers 5 hours of talktime, and 200 hours of standby time.

Micromax is the 12th largest handset manufacturer in the world and the 3rd largest in India. In 2012 Micromax led the Indian tablet market with a share of 18.4%, ahead of Samsung and Apple. Micromax Mobile’s rapid growth is associated with its strategy of aggressive low pricing of its products and a wide distribution setup. Most people would not be aware that Micromax made its debut in 1991 but only got noticed in 2008 and within six months, it had a market share of 0.59%. With stars like Akshay Kumar as its ambassador, Micromax hit the market with a bang and was instantly popular with its competitively priced products and well marketed designs. Micromax was out of the picture for a while after the cricket world cup due to the attractive launches of brands like HTC and SONY but now with its new devices like Smarty 4.3 and the Canvas HD priced very affordably, and designed for the Indian market, the company is clearly destined to regain its place in the market.
