SleepPhones - Headband with built-in earphones..

SleepPhones - Headband with built-in earphones

A headband with built-in earphones could lull you to deep sleep, without even waking a partner sleeping by your side. Existing versions are wired with a phone, but a wireless version, slated to go on sale in April, has just won a prestigious award at the CES in Las Vegas.

"Being able to sleep soundly is crucial to feeling well overall, and SleepPhones help by playing relaxing audio, drowning out noise, and establishing a positive bedtime routine," says Wei-Shin Lai, one of the inventors of the headphonesThe firm began selling the product in 2007, when Lai was working as a doctor.

"In 2007, I had trouble falling back to sleep after patient phone calls late at night as a family doctor. My husband suggested that I listen to something to take my mind off of patient concerns," says Lai, the Daily Mail reports. "Since I didn't want to disturb my husband while he slept, I needed headphones or ear buds I could wear in bed. But there was nothing comfortable in the market so I came up with stuffing speakers inside a headband," adds Lai.

"There's a version of our product for sports, a version for sleep, and now a wireless version that eliminates cords entirely by playing back media from any Bluetooth-enabled device," concludes Lai. The current version has a wire so it can be plugged into an iPod or bedside alarm, but the next version will be wireless, the firm said Sunday.

Facebook Phone..

Facebook Phone
It’s been quite a while since news about the top secret offering from the social networking giant - Facebook is making rounds in the tech circle. Some people are referring it to be a new smartphone from Zuckerberg`s company, others are pointing towards a new operating system.
According to an international gadget portal, it’s now official that Facebook is holding an event on 15th January 2013 at California. The invite reads “Come and see what we are building”, which makes this quite apparent that it could be a phone from this multi-billion dollar company. Earlier in 2011, rumors were at their peak about Facebook coming out with a phone but the company`s CEO, Mark Zuckerberg always remained in the denial mode ever since.
But interestingly, rumors at that time indicated the release of a phone from Facebook around 2013, which is now clear after the confirmation of the event happening tomorrow. Everyone is excited  about what will Facebook offer this time- a phone or an Operating system, that we will see only after tomorrow`s event.

Top 5 3D TVs of 2012 (Till Date)..

1. LG 55LM9600 (55-inch LED)

Price:  2,58,200 Approximately

The 3D television from LG comes with brilliant 3D visuals. The colour quality of the pictures hasn’t been compromised on and the images have almost close to reality colours. Like all other gadgets sleekness is being followed in the design of television sets as well. With its high picture quality this TV
has almost become sort of a yard stick in the world of 3D televisions. The TV has a 55 inch screen and it comes with Wireless Display (WiDi) and “Dual Play” i.e. an option for multiplayer games. The eye ware just weigh 13 grams, the LG 3D eyewear is extremely comfortable to wear and are made in such a way that it would fit comfortably over reading glasses as well. But what the eye wear misses out on is the nose pads that would have given the glasses a better fit. They are available in two colour variants, black and blue. All in all the LG 55LM9600 is a yard stick in the matter of design of 3 D televisions.

2. Panasonic Viera TH-P55VT50 (55-inch plasma)

Price:  1,55,000 Approximately

The new Panasonic Viera VT 50 has retained most of the features from its predecessor including its design. The television has retained the one sheet of glass bezel design and a low-profile stand. But underneath this an improved Infinite Black Ultra Panel and filter have been installed. This addition promises the viewers with perfect colour combination even bright light conditions. Along with this the company has added the option of web browser to the TV which was missing from the previous 3D television. The improved 3D goggles from Panasonic weigh less by 10 grams.

The 27 grams eye ware feature Bluetooth infrared of the infrared connection and they also have been enabled with the option of smooth conversation between 3D and 2D.
Panasonic has indeed succeeded in delivering a new and improved version of their previous 3D television.

3.  LG 47LM8600 (47-inch LED)

Price:  1,98,935 Approximately

LG 47LM8600 is powered with amazing 3D performance. This is the flagship LED model from LG. The features of this 3D television set is similar to that of the LG 55LM9600.  It comes with Intel’s Wireless Display (Wi-Di) and a new magic remote. The 47-inch television set produces flicker-free and
absolutely clear 3D visuals which make viewing TV a pleasure. The television set is also enabled with a dimming capability which delivers good viewing even in the 2D mode. Though a major fault that we can find with this set is that the speakers don’t live up to the expectations. The sound system lacks the finesse to match the beautiful picture quality. The eye wear that comes with this 3D television set is similar to that of ones with LG 55LM9600. It weighs only 13 grams and is available in two colours; black and blue. The television is a winner in every category except the audio which proves to be a major fall out.

4. Panasonic Viera TH-L47DT50 (47-inch LED)

Price: 154,718 Approximately

Panasonic Viera DT50 3D LED TV is the successor to Panasonic WT50 series. Look wise there isn’t much different, the DT 50 is also ultra thin bezel design but at a much lower price than its predecessor. The TV comes with new functions like Web browsers, Wi-Fi and the back light for the remote control.

The 3D television set delivers as a solid performer. The pictures are crisp and smooth and they are very close to the original colours. But this isn’t the general feeling towards the visuals. Some finds the bluish colors and the grayish black very unnatural and an inhibition to enjoy the visuals. The eye ware from Panasonic along with this TV weighs only 30 grams. They are designed in such a way that they fit just perfectly over prescription glasses as well. The goggles have a full wrap-around frame that cut out the surrounding lights. It also comes with adjustable rubber nose pads that fit well over the viewer’s nose.

5.  LG 55EM9600 (55-inch OLED)

Price: RS.55,000 Approximately

Organic LED (OLED) is considered the future of crystal clearing television viewing experience. Before LG came out with a 55-inch OLED TV this technology was only available in 11-inch and 15-inch sets. LG wasn’t alone; they were joined by Samsung in the Consumer Electronics Show in January 2012 where they launched their version of the 55-inch models.

LG in order to differentiate their TV from the rest have launched a White OLED (WOLED) technology. WOLED means that there would be a thin white strip on top of the red, green and blue (RGB) colours. With this addition the pictures seen on the television will have more accurate and closer to life hues in comparison to the normal RGB OLED ones. The eye ware along with television is definitely something to look out for. The eye ware can almost pass off as beautiful expensive sunglasses. This time around LG hasn’t faltered with the nose pads. The nose pads are extremely soft and comfortable.

Hot Wheels’s iNitro Speeders..

Hot Wheels’s iNitro Speeders aren’t your typical RC car. Firstly, they’re absolutely miniature in size; 1 3/4″ long. Included is a carrying case that doubles as a charger and a remote control. Controls are of a traditional setup, with the left stick controlling throttle and the right stick for turning the car. Since the iNitro Speeders are so darn small, the wheels don’t turn and instead rotate independently much like a tank to achieve a left or right movement.

To keep with the times, and toss in a dash of pizazz, Hot Wheels also allows you to administer controls using your iPhone. You’ll just need to plug in the included infrared dongle, which is how the iNitro Speeder receives its commands.  The app includes a set of controls that mimic the physical controller, but that’s not all.  You can also draw custom paths or choose from a number of shapes, which we can only assume that the iNitro Speeder will follow to a ‘t’. There are 8 different iNitro Speeder cars and they’re each available now for $32.99.

Lenovo Multimedia Remote..

Over a year ago we cut the cable/dish around here and began using Home Theater PCs, and various extenders and it has worked out much better than I had hoped. My wife and two sons have been delighted with the selection of content available and we’re saving almost $125/month by not having DirecTV.
All went smoothly in the transition, building the HTPCs was easy, putting the RokusPopcorn HourMicrosoft XBox360 and Thecus NAS on the network wasn’t a problem either. The only real issue we had was finding the right remote keyboard. I tried a slew of them and could never find one that was easy to use, small enough to fit in one hand and accomplished all the functions necessary to fully utilize the Windows 7 based PCs that were acting as the heart of our system.

Along came the Lenovo Multimedia Remote, a fan-shaped, gem with a roller-ball and qwerty-keyboard. It was almost perfect except for two things: 1. The keys weren’t back lit so it was very hard to see, and 2. There was no way to easily scroll (wheel) through web pages. Well, it appears my desires are about to met as Lenovo has introduced the Enhanced Lenovo Multimedia Remote Keyboard (N5902). The new model incorporates a scroll bar, touch pad rather than a ball, back-lit keyboard and, it appears, a little nicer overall look. It’s going to sell for $79.99 and should be shipping September 1. I promise a review as soon as I can get my paws on one.
It’s really refreshing to see a company that has listened to its customers and made changes to an already pretty-good product. I’ve included a short video highlight the keyboard and the changes that Lenovo made.

The Wireless Luggage Finder – Let Your Luggage Find You

It’s not the first contraption designed to make finding your luggage on an airport carousel easier, but the easy2pick does seem to be a bit smarter than most. It’s a combination of a luggage tag with a built-in wireless transmitter and a keychain that will sound an alarm, flash and vibrate when your suitcase is within a 66 foot range. So while it might mean that it’s not actually on the carousel just yet, you’ll know it’s coming, and at the least, you’ll know it’s in the same airport as you. Unique ID codes ensure that your keychain won’t detect someone else’s luggage tag, and the 100-hour battery life in the transmitter is prolonged even further thanks to sensors that deactivate it when it’s in the cargo hold of a plane by measuring the light, altitude and even sounds. And the system is a very reasonable $24.95.
Yes, have you experienced a big trouble when you are going to another county? Well, most of people agreed that going to another country with a plane and having a baggage problem is one of the worst things that could happen to anyone. Make sure you buy the wireless luggage finder to protect your suitcase during travelling wherever it is. The wireless luggage finder will help you to keep in touch with your baggage. Simply equip your suitcase with the wireless luggage finder and the devices will work So, you can enjoy the process of baggage checking at the airport without any worried about the suitcase anymore.
There is another important feature of the wireless luggage finder. It will use the photo sensor feature to measure your suitcase inside the airplane cargo room and deactivate the wireless sensor and reactivate it again when the suitcase is on the luggage belt at the airport.
Whether backpacking or a full on luxury holiday, long haul travel can be a highly stressful time when going through airports. The biggest time for stress for most people is baggage claim. It is easy to get stressed out about where your bags are and the condition they are in. No one likes baggage claim.
To help ease this travel stress is an interesting product idea called the Wireless Luggage Finder by Easy 2 Pick. It is a product with a simple aim, reducing your stress by helping to find your luggage.
But don't worry it doesn't go off whilst in the air as it has a sensor which automatically turns it off when dark.
For someone like me, I would like to see a smaller version for your keys and wallet. Its a great device, and a thoroughly recommended business or backpacker travel accessory.

No idea for pricing on such a device just yet though.

3DS by Nintendo

If you are wondering what the new Nintendo 3DS will look like then perhaps this fan-made rendering might give you some idea. The concept drawing uses a similar format to the traditional DS whereby the screen flips open. The top screen is 3D and the bottom screen looks to be regular 2D. The controls for the 3DS have been moved to the outside of the device in that they don’t get covered up when the top screen closes down. The left houses the D-Pad and an analogue stick while the right has the SNES style YXBA 4 button setup. Of course these are just fan-made renderings, so perhaps they will actually be nowhere near what the 3DS will look like, but due to them looking quite good I thought I’d mention them anyway. So the Nintendo 3DS has finally be released in Japan and to no surprise, they are already out of stock, they were provided with 400,000 Nintendo 3DS to provide to, well the population of Japan and on the day of the 3Ds launch, they ran out, it was pretty obvious this was going to happen and if the 3Ds is a hit, it is going to change the world of portable gaming, so that’s probably why everyone over in Japan was so keen to get their hands on a Nintendo 3DS.
The lines to get in the shops to buy a 3Ds were crazy, we’re talking about lines containing over 2,000 people all waiting to get their hands on a Nintendo 3DS, there are tons of stores which didn’t have any line what so ever, probably because most stores in Japan put the 3DS on pre-order last month, so most of their stock would of gone on the pre-order sales.
Nintendo’s Japanese warning guidelines pertaining to the use of the 3DS unit has caused some panic among parents as well as other people. The warning guidelines has advised players to take a break after around 30 minutes of play since the 3D gameplay may cause an eye fatigue more quickly than the 2D gameplay does. In addition to this, children under 6 years of age are also advised to prevent themselves from using the 3D mode since at this age their eyes are still in the process of development.
Basically, when you are into a 3D gameplay, these 3D video games as well as 3D movies will make your eyes create some illusion of depth thus, resulting to a feeling on imbalance and disorientation. There are also a few cases where an individual experiences some sort of eye strain, headache, nausea and the like. However, there is no evidence that it can cause a permanent damage to your eyes that could affect your vision or whatsoever. Knowing these possibilities may bring some negative impact to the Nintendo 3DS sales since these Nintendo handheld devices targets young gamers out there. However, it is a good thing that the upcoming Nintendo 3DS will be coming up with a slider that can turn the 3D effect either up or down or even completely turn it off. The 3D technology is definitely on the rise. And since there is no study yet proving the negative effects of 3D to our health especially our vision, it would be advisable to take the necessary precautions. Those 3D tech developers out there must also take this thing into consideration as well. And always remember it is always better to be safe than sorry.
