Samsung has officially launched the Galaxy S23 FE in South Korea, a day before its scheduled release in France. It's worth noting that the Galaxy S23 FE was initially announced a couple of months ago and was first introduced in India, followed by a release in the US. The device is now set to hit the European market soon. In South Korea, the 256GB variant of the Galaxy S23 FE is priced at KRW 847,000 ($640) and is available in Cream, Graphite, Mint, and Purple colors. Samsung Stores, Samsung.com, telecom carriers, and authorized online and offline retailers across the country are offering the device, while two additional colors—Indigo and Tangerine—will be exclusive to Samsung Store Gangnam and Samsung.com.
Customers purchasing the Galaxy S23 FE by December 22 can choose between a complimentary Galaxy SmartTag 2 or a 25W Power Saving Charger through the Samsung Shop app. Those buying the phone by December 31 qualify for a 50% discount on select desserts from CU convenience store and a coupon for the game Collapse: Star Trail from Hoyo Bus. Additionally, those activating their Galaxy S23 FE before month-end will receive a four-month YouTube Premium subscription and a six-month Microsoft 365 subscription for free.
The Galaxy S23 FE boasts a 6.4-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2x screen with Full HD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. It features an in-display fingerprint reader, stereo speakers, IP68 rating, Wireless DeX, and Samsung Pay. The device utilizes the Exynos 2400 processor in Korea, offering 8GB RAM, 256GB storage, 5G capability, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.3, NFC, a USB Type-C port, a 4,500mAh battery, 25W charging, 15W wireless charging, and 4.5W reverse wireless charging. The front houses a 10MP selfie camera, while the rear setup includes a 50MP primary camera with OIS, a 12MP ultrawide camera, and an 8MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom and OIS. Video recording capabilities include 4K 60fps for the front and primary rear cameras, while the ultrawide and telephoto cameras are limited to 4K 30fps.
Aligning with the South Korean government's initiative to reduce household communication costs, Samsung introduces the Galaxy Perfect program, offering buyers a 50% trade-in value for phones purchased within the last 24 months. Additionally, Samsung's Galaxy Trial program will be available for the first 600 applicants, allowing them to use the Galaxy S23 FE for 14 days and return it if unsatisfied. Samsung has partnered with various brands for customizable cases and is launching the Smart View Wallet Case, Silicon Case, and Clear Gadget Case for the Galaxy S23 FE in South Korea.
