BREAKFAST HQ beta-releases Instaprint..

BREAKFAST HQ might have something here to pique your interest – we’re talking about the beta release of Instaprint, a prototype device which will definitely make you feel as though you’ve stepped into a time machine, rolling back the years by turning Instagram digital photos into physical prints. Each of these Instaprint devices are able to print Instagrams tagged with a specific location or hashtag.
To put it into a more modern context, anyone is able to snap a photo and tag it, and then watch as Instaprint finds their pic and prints it out, complete with comments and the ilk. It does so without having to sacrifice a sense of “retro”, thanks to a new ink-less printing technology known as Zink. The color will hail from the paper itself similar to old Polaroid photos. No idea for pricing on such a device just yet though.

Fold Flat USB Mains Charger..

Check out this rather interesting design for a plug – we’re looking at the Fold Flat USB Mains Charger, a slimline foldout plug which makes traveling a whole lot lighter and more manageable – have you ever really tried to pack in the standard three-pin plug adapter, not to mention a few while you’re at it before taking a long holiday?

Samsung LED 9000 Series..

The Samsung LED 9000 series was set to replace the older, outmoded, outdated high-end A950 class with a stunning set of LED-backlit LCD displays. Almost every new model these days supports 1080p, 240Hz, local-dimming LED, WiFi-ready, 3D, application store, active shutter glasses-enabled, and up-converting of 2D to 3D too. It also has a full color touchscreen remote that uses WiFi and infrared to communicate with the TV, and you can stream video from your PC to your TV with the remote. It even lets you watch TV in the palm of your hand while something else is playing on the big screen. You can watch a football game while the girlfriend watches a chick flick on the screen. The Samsung LED 9000 series has been renamed the 8500 from the time of their premiere to their shipping date. There are several features which set the 9000 series set apart with lifelike depth to immerse you in the experience, 3D capability, connected interactive content, and design that is changing the game for all other TVs. This next generation of Samsung LED back-lit HDTV is going to change the way that people view television forever. Samsung was already a leader in the LED TV field, but now they are a leader in the 3D LED TV field. Screen sizes range from 19” to 65”.
This pencil-thin TV is about as chic as you can get. It is the world’s slimmest LED TV that is also fully integrated with a built-in 3D processor, auto-conversion technology, 2D content to 3D content conversion, energy efficiency that meets the EnergyStar 4.0 guidelines, and a touchscreen remote control which is fast becoming a necessary feature on all LED TVs. This TV debuted to much surprise at CES 2010 because no one had ever seen an LED TV that was that thin before. It is pencil-thin with metal enclosure that can only be described as tempting, to say the least. It can be set up on any TV stand or taken apart from the base and mounted on the wall. It has not been officially released yet, but many of its features are being built in to other TVs being marketed by Samsung. The notable features, in other words, are being distributed across several of their other TVs, and the fully-featured Samsung LED 9000 series hasn’t been officially released yet. It was one of the most captivating offerings at CES 2010. Throngs of people gathered around the debut with cell phones capturing images of what would become the hottest TV on the market, once it is released that is. It is the most powerful and expensive HDTV of the year, and it also wins the style award for TVs that were being offered that year. This thing could act like a guillotine in a free fall because it is so thin so it is a safety hazard for people installing it that installers have never had to encounter before. There are numerous people that can’t wait to get it.

3DS by Nintendo

If you are wondering what the new Nintendo 3DS will look like then perhaps this fan-made rendering might give you some idea. The concept drawing uses a similar format to the traditional DS whereby the screen flips open. The top screen is 3D and the bottom screen looks to be regular 2D. The controls for the 3DS have been moved to the outside of the device in that they don’t get covered up when the top screen closes down. The left houses the D-Pad and an analogue stick while the right has the SNES style YXBA 4 button setup. Of course these are just fan-made renderings, so perhaps they will actually be nowhere near what the 3DS will look like, but due to them looking quite good I thought I’d mention them anyway. So the Nintendo 3DS has finally be released in Japan and to no surprise, they are already out of stock, they were provided with 400,000 Nintendo 3DS to provide to, well the population of Japan and on the day of the 3Ds launch, they ran out, it was pretty obvious this was going to happen and if the 3Ds is a hit, it is going to change the world of portable gaming, so that’s probably why everyone over in Japan was so keen to get their hands on a Nintendo 3DS.
The lines to get in the shops to buy a 3Ds were crazy, we’re talking about lines containing over 2,000 people all waiting to get their hands on a Nintendo 3DS, there are tons of stores which didn’t have any line what so ever, probably because most stores in Japan put the 3DS on pre-order last month, so most of their stock would of gone on the pre-order sales.
Nintendo’s Japanese warning guidelines pertaining to the use of the 3DS unit has caused some panic among parents as well as other people. The warning guidelines has advised players to take a break after around 30 minutes of play since the 3D gameplay may cause an eye fatigue more quickly than the 2D gameplay does. In addition to this, children under 6 years of age are also advised to prevent themselves from using the 3D mode since at this age their eyes are still in the process of development.
Basically, when you are into a 3D gameplay, these 3D video games as well as 3D movies will make your eyes create some illusion of depth thus, resulting to a feeling on imbalance and disorientation. There are also a few cases where an individual experiences some sort of eye strain, headache, nausea and the like. However, there is no evidence that it can cause a permanent damage to your eyes that could affect your vision or whatsoever. Knowing these possibilities may bring some negative impact to the Nintendo 3DS sales since these Nintendo handheld devices targets young gamers out there. However, it is a good thing that the upcoming Nintendo 3DS will be coming up with a slider that can turn the 3D effect either up or down or even completely turn it off. The 3D technology is definitely on the rise. And since there is no study yet proving the negative effects of 3D to our health especially our vision, it would be advisable to take the necessary precautions. Those 3D tech developers out there must also take this thing into consideration as well. And always remember it is always better to be safe than sorry.

Lenovo IdeaPad U1– a laptop with a detachable tablet screen..

CES 2010 hasn't even started yet and already Lenovo has unwrapped its latest computing concept at the pre-show warm-up CES Unveiled. The computing company has shown off something called the Lenovo IdeaPad – a laptop which comes complete with a detachable tablet screen. The Lenovo IdeaPad U1 is certainly an intriguing concept. It calls itself a 'hybrid notebook' and is essentially two devices, with the tablet part of the IdeaPad working completely independently of the notebook cradle. Screen-wise, it's 11.6 inches and LED backlit, and while Lenovo were tight-lipped over what other specs the IdeaPad U1 has, they did let us have a peak at an as-yet-not-finalised specification sheet which noted the tablet part of the machine used a Qualcomm Arm 1GHz Snapdragon processor, with the main notebook powered by a Intel Core 2 Duo processor. In total the whole thing will weigh 1.61lbs, but if you fancy just carrying the tablet around then this will only weigh you down 0.7lbs. Other specs we managed to glean from Lenova are that the IdeaPad will incorporate 4GB of DDR3 Ram, house 2x USB ports and an eSata port. Interestingly, once the tablet is freed from the notebook body, you can hook the notebook up to an external monitor and it will work just fine. When the tablet is removed, what you are left with is a see-through red Perspex screen.
Another cool feature is that the device will know to automatically change your web surfing from full web to mobile web when the tablet is set free. Although the Snapdragon processor is more than capable of supporting full web, it is a handy little feature to have. Given the size of the device it's no wonder that it uses a resistive screen, but we tried it and there wasn't too much forced prodding to be done. Lenova has certainly hit onto and intriguing concept with the IdeaPad U1. While it may not be the only tablet device the company releases at CES, it's a great compromise for those who want to try out a tablet but don't won't to rid themselves of the notebook completely. Another compromise may be the price. Looking to be around the $999 mark when it is released in the US in the second half of the year, expect a UK release date of the Lenovo IdeaPad U1 later in 2010, with pounds matching dollars.

Apple iPhone 5..

Although many believe that the next generation if the Apple iPhone/iPhone 5 will have the same design as the iPhone 4 or even a few alterations, there is no harm in speculating. Rumors are in the air that the new apple smatphone is coming out; iphone 5? Well, yes it’s the iphone 5.0 – so be prepared to enter a whole new realm. Even Apple is taking measures to make the iPhone 5 compatible with the latest 4G technology. Item has designed this concept iPhone 5 in the way he would like it. It takes elements from the iPhone 4 and the previous iPhones and adds various improvements as well. The device now has the clear glass on both the front and back as seen in the iPhone 4. But it’s edges and back are rounded as in the previous generation iPhones.
According to reports, Apple is going to bring out iPhone5 with 4G technology soon enough to revolutionize the world again. The Apple iPhone 5 will be outfitted with multi-core A8 System chip, and come with 3.7” display screen. It is expected to be featured with the Graphical dual core CPU with long term evolution for 3GPP and upcoming 4G technology. The Apple iPhone 5 is expected to come with 1.2 GHz Dual Core processor with the graphics card SGX543 and multi core A8 system chip to render HD quality; the same chip used in iPad.
The Iphone 5 has compatibility for GSM, CDMA as well as the 4G connection. Apple iPhone 5 will also come with superior battery life, and advanced features such as mobile connect and media stream. The new i-phone 5 may come with storage space of 64 Gb, and it will surprise you even further with its thinner and sleeker look in comparison to the 3gs & iphone 4.0. Furthermore, this time around Apple is planning to deliver a stunning 10 mega pixel camera. Apple iPhone 5 is expected to get released in 2011 summer. Apple lovers have to wait for iPhone 5 in order to enjoy all its advanced features and technology embedded inside; so stay away from iphone 4.0 for now, if you haven’t bought it, and planning to spend on a new smartphone! However, I’m pretty sure the new beast from Apple is bound to pinch your pockets even more, and the Indian customers won’t get to see it for at least another 10-12months or so! The Menu/Home button is now touch-sensitive. Anyway we hope Apple incorporate some of the good things in this concept into their next iPhone.
