Telegram new features

Telegram, a widely used instant messaging app, is introducing several new features, including the ability to transcribe messages for free, add video messages to stories, and repost stories from friends and other channels. Available on both Android and iOS, here's a brief overview of the latest Telegram features.

  1. Choose Profile Colors: Premium subscribers on Telegram already enjoy various customization options, such as selecting a color for their name and replies. With the recent update, Premium members can now create unique color combinations with logos, making their profiles stand out. Android users can customize their profiles by going to Settings, navigating to 'Chat Settings,' and tapping 'Change Your Colour.' iOS users can find this option under 'Your Color' in the 'Appearance' section.
  2. Repost Stories: The latest update allows users to repost stories from other accounts and favorite channels. When reposting a story, users can add content like audio, text, and video comments. Reposted stories can also have separate visibility settings. To repost a story, tap the 'Share arrow' and select 'Repost Story.' Note that only stories visible to everyone can be reposted.
  3. Find Similar Channels: When users join a channel, Telegram will now display a list of similar channels they might find interesting. However, only public channels will appear in this list.
  4. Transcribe Voice and Video Messages for Free: The voice-to-text transcribe feature, previously limited to Premium members, is now available for free users. Free users can transcribe up to 2 voice and video messages per week. To use this feature, tap the '→A icon,' and Telegram will automatically detect the language and transcribe the text. Please note that this feature is gradually rolling out and may take some time before it becomes available on your device.
  5. Post Video Messages on Stories: Telegram is introducing a feature that allows users to add a video message to a story. These video messages can be resized and placed anywhere on the screen. The feature can also be used to add video reactions to stories that users want to repost. To record a video message, hold the camera icon in the story editor and hold onto the video track that appears at the bottom of the screen to control the volume.

Microsoft Copilot (formerly Bing Chat)

In early February, Microsoft introduced its chatbot based on generative AI, initially named Bing Chat, which was made available as a public preview. Since the initial launch, Microsoft has continually enhanced the chatbot by incorporating new features and making improvements. In November, Microsoft revealed the decision to rename Bing Chat and Bing Chat Enterprise to Copilot, aligning it with the nomenclature of the company's other generative AI services. Microsoft has now officially announced on its Bing blog that Copilot has transitioned from the public preview stage to being generally available.

Copilot is now accessible with commercial data protection at no additional cost for individuals and businesses subscribed to Microsoft's Microsoft 365 commercial and educational plans. Microsoft has future plans to extend support for Copilot with commercial data protection to a majority of its Entra ID users. Businesses already utilizing Copilot during the public preview phase do not need to take any additional steps now that it is generally available. For those companies not using products labeled as being in a preview state, official documentation on the chatbot is available for reference. Users seeking more information before using Copilot can also consult Microsoft's adoption kit. Businesses and their employees can visit the Copilot website to explore and try it out before making it widely available.

Samsung Galaxy A55 renders leak

The Galaxy A55 is poised to become Samsung's next premium mid-range phone, and a lot of information about the upcoming device is already available, with leaks likely continuing until its official unveiling. A recent leak has provided high-quality renders and a 360-degree video of the Galaxy A55, offering a comprehensive view of the phone's design. Surprisingly, the A55 exhibits a striking resemblance to the Galaxy A54, particularly in terms of overall design, though there are notable changes. The most significant alteration is the adoption of a flat frame, akin to what the Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24+ will feature. While there have been rumors suggesting a potential metal frame for the Galaxy A55 and A35, the leak does not touch upon this aspect.

On the front, the renders showcase smaller bezels compared to the Galaxy A54. However, it's worth noting that renders and press images may not always accurately represent a device's bezels, necessitating a hands-on assessment to determine if Samsung has addressed the Galaxy A54's bezel concerns with its sequel.

In terms of hardware, the Galaxy A55 is noteworthy as the first mid-range Samsung phone to incorporate the company's Xclipse GPUs, based on AMD's RDNA2 architecture. However, the real-world performance of the Exynos 1480, the chip within the A55, remains to be seen. The Exynos 1380's implementation in the Galaxy A54 was deemed lackluster, but there is optimism that Samsung has invested more effort into the Exynos 1480 and the Galaxy A55.

Samsung Galaxy S24 Series Official Renderings

In a groundbreaking revelation, the Samsung Galaxy S24 Series has been extensively uncovered, providing enthusiasts with a sneak peek into the highly anticipated smartphone. The leak encompasses official renderings of the Galaxy S24 Ultra, including the Standard Plus version, detailed color options, design enhancements, and a comprehensive overview of confirmed and rumored specifications for the entire Galaxy S24 lineup. The report showcases official renderings of the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra in four captivating Titanium-themed colors: Titanium Black, Titanium Gray, Titanium Violet, and a new addition, Titanium Yellow, replacing the previous Green option. A notable departure from the previous generation includes the introduction of Titanium as the material for the Galaxy S24 Ultra's middle frame.

A significant design upgrade for the Galaxy S24 Ultra is the transition from a curved to a straight screen, a prominent change that retains the consistent display size with the Galaxy S23 Ultra. The report also highlights improved cooling capabilities, featuring a vapor chamber 1.9 times larger than the previous generation, enhancing the device's ability to handle demanding tasks seamlessly.

In the realm of photography, the rear camera housing maintains similarities with the previous generation, but Samsung introduces a noteworthy addition—a new 50-megapixel telephoto camera offering 5x optical zoom. Meanwhile, the Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24 Plus maintain the identical design of their predecessors, featuring differing display sizes. Available in Onyx Black, Marble Grey, Cobalt Violet, and Amber Yellow, these models lack the Titanium frame seen in the Ultra version. Both devices boast enhanced heat dissipation, with improvements of 1.5 and 1.6 times, respectively.

A key highlight of the Galaxy S24 Series lies in its advanced AI capabilities, promising a transformative user experience. These capabilities power various applications and functionalities, including real-time translation in messaging apps, generative AI for photo editing and enhancement, and an augmented search experience across the device. As the leak unfolds, the Samsung Galaxy S24 Series emerges as a technological marvel, offering a harmonious blend of cutting-edge design, advanced camera capabilities, and AI-driven functionalities. Enthusiasts eagerly await the official release, poised to experience the next evolution in Samsung's flagship smartphone series.

Google Messages New Features

The default messaging app on the majority of Android phones, Google Messages, has undergone a significant update today, introducing a variety of new features that promise to enhance your conversations. The revamped user interface maintains a familiar appearance, resembling the widely popular messaging app on iPhones, iMessage. One notable addition is the Photomoji feature, allowing users to extract objects from their photos, turning them into personalized photomojis that can be sent as reactions in Google Messages. Shared in group chats, these photomojis can be utilized by other users, akin to Apple's live stickers feature.

Another addition is the Voice Moods feature, enabling users to send voice notes with enhanced emphasis. Following the recording of the message, users can choose from nine different emotions, such as laughter or party fever. Upon sending the voice note, the recipient hears the message accompanied by a visual effect, highlighting the selected voice's mood. Borrowed from iMessage, Google Messages now incorporates Screen Effects, offering fully immersive, vibrant effects that take over the entire screen when sending specific messages. For instance, typing 'I love you' triggers a screen effect where the heart emoji explodes on the screen. Google mentions the presence of over 15 screen effect prompt words.
